Melissa Satterfield  (2014)

As a junior, Satterfield won 3,200 meters (11:30) and, while also competing in the mile, finished third (5-foot-2) in the high jump. That spring, along with competing in the Meet of Champs, Satterfield finished 10th in the pentathlon.
She had the state’s top times in the 3,200M (11:17.6) and 1,600M (5:17.7) in 1984, and she was an honorable mention National High School Track All-American.

Satterfield won the state cross country meet as a senior and won the 3,200M, 800M and 1,600M. Once again, Satterfield finished the spring of ‘85 with the state’s top times in the 3,200M (10:58.8) and 1,600M (5:08.6).
She capped her career with another honorable mention National High School Track All-American selection and finished her senior year with three team state titles — cross country, basketball and track.

Satterfield ran one season of cross country at the University of Kansas and later transferred and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1989.
