Sherika Nelvis  (2022)

Memphis Northside High School, Arkansas State University

One of the greatest to compete on the track for Arkansas State, Sharika Nelvis won a staggering 24 Sun Belt Conference championships between 2011 and 2014 - 13 indoors and 11 outdoors. The Memphis native was a four-time All-American, including a sweep of the sprint hurdles in 2014, winning national titles in the 60m hurdles indoors and 100m hurdles outdoors. That season also saw her become a finalist for the Bowerman, considered the Heisman Trophy of collegiate track and field.

High School:
  • 2007-2009 Multi-Sport Athlete VB, BB, SB, T&F 2009- 1st Place 4 events Tennessee State AAA Meet 

Arkansas State University: 
  • 2011-2014-Won 24 Sun Belt Conference Championships 13 Indoor and 11 Outdoor 
  • 2012 & 2013 - Sun Belt Conference Top Athlete ID & OD 2014-NCAA Champion 60m Hurdles Indoor 
  • 2014-NCAA Champion 100m Hurdles Outdoor 
  • 2014 Sun Belt Conference Female Athlete of Year 
  • 2014- Honda Sports Award best female collegiate track & field athlete in nation 
  • 2014 - Finalist for Bowerman Award 

Professional Career: 
  • 2016-5th Place US Olympic Trials 100m Hurdles 
  • 2018- USTAF Indoor 60m Hurdles Champion 7.70 AR 2018- IAAF World Indoor Championships 4th 60mH 
  • Inducted into Arkansas State Sports Hall of Honor in 2021
