Coaching Career: Cleveland had a long and distinguished coaching career spanning 38 years. He began in Warren in 1978 then moved to the PCSSD/LRSD serving as Head Track Coach at Mabelvale JHS, JA Fair HS and McClelland High School. His teams won multiple conference championships (1978, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1989, 1998). He coached JA Fair to the 5A State Championship in 1999, and his Cross Country teams captured State Championships in 2001 & 2005. He coached athletes to Decathlon Championships in 1994 & 1995, with several others gaining high finishes. Many of his athletes were named to All-State teams in Track & Field and Cross Country. He was named Gatorade Coach of the Year in 1995 and was the Little Rock School District Track Director for 10 years. Kimmie Cleveland's career at Warren and J.A. Fair yielded five conference championships, three state championships and two state runner-up finishes following his track career at the University of Central Arkansas |
