Cliff Clark (2014)
A native of Shelter Island, New York, Clark won the NAIA 3,000-meter steeplechase national championship in 1966. A year earlier, Clark earned Harding's first All-America selection by playing 12th at the NAIA national cross country meet.
Clark was awarded the 1966 Neil Gibson Martin Award by the Amateur Athletic Union as the top amateur athlete in Arkansas. Following his time at Harding, Clark competed for Team USA at three World Cross Country Championships and placed fourth in the steeplechase at the 1972 United States Olympic Trials. |
