J. M. "Johnnie" Burnette  (1999)

• This former coach was instrumental in building a sound state high school activities program.
• He served as Executive Director of the Arkansas Activities Association from 1946-1974.
• Burnett was a member of the first National Federation Track and Field Rules Committee.
• He was elected to the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1977, and the Arkansas High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1995.
