Little Rock Central and Arkansas Tech

​As a sports reporter for the Arkansas Democrat (1952-53 and 1958-61), Adcock had major responsibility for covering the AIC with an emphasis on high school and college track and field each spring.

He was Commissioner of the AIC, 1961-1974, organized and directed conference track and cross country championships, and had a leadership role in bringing the first national track meet to Arkansas.

In the next three NAIA national meets he was head photo-finish judge.

For many years Adcock was a timer, then head timer for high school local and state track meets.
